Fowey Valley Castledore Cider 330ml
Cornish Castledore Cider is handcrafted in the cidery within Lostwithiel, a beautifully idyllic and historical town in Cornwall. At Fowey Valley, they only use fresh apples from their own Cornish orchard and others close by, and absolutely nothing else.
The name ‘Castledore’ is taken from the iron age fort Castle Dore which stands just a couple of hundred metres from the Fowey Valley home orchard.
To create this award-winning cider, they mill the apples into small pieces and then press this ‘pomace’ in our new belt press. About 65% of this is juice, which is then pumped into our 1,500-litre tanks. At the end of each day they add yeast and put it under an airlock for about a year to slowly ferment.
They then bottle this into Castledore Cider, which is a wonderfully refreshing, medium dry and lightly carbonated cider. It's exceptionally clean on the palate, very well balanced, and low tannin, with a beautiful straw colour.
Presented in 330ml crown capped bottles with an ABV of 6.5%.
